This year our Waitangi Claims Working Rōpū have been able to organise wānanga to connect uri to land sites of interest that our hapū connect to and are within Waitangi Claims that have been made by, for or on behalf of our collective hapū.
Ngā Hapū o Te Ahuahu represents a collective of four hapū (Te Uri Taniwha, Ngāti Hineira, Ngāti Korohue, Te Whānau Whero) who have current and historical interests across the rohe of Taiāmai. This stretches from Te Ahuahu maunga and Lake Omapere and their surrounds, spreading out eastward following the Waitangi River to Waitangi and the Bay of Island and out to Te Kerikeri and Te Haupārua Inlet to name a few locations.
Our last wānanga for the year will be held over the weekend of November 22-24th at Rāwhitiroa Marae, with sites to be visited over the weekend.
Sites to be visited include Te Ahuahu, Omapere, Ngawha and Kerikeri. More details to come via email.
Make sure to register to receive all info and an RSVP.
